Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu stated that the county's top seat aspirants have embarked on spreading propaganda about his candidature.

"I have not withdrawn from vying for Kisii governor's seat in 2022. Those declaring that I have pulled out are lying due to panic and should be ignored," he said on Monday.

According to the legislator, for now, he is focused on serving his constituents and when the right time comes he will not shy off from going for the top seat in the county.

"Leaders willing to face me in the ballot in 2022 should be professionals when commenting on public issues and should do so honestly, truthfully and with good intention. The false reports and comments being spread that I withdrew my candidature is misleading," he stated.

The MP who on Friday last week hosted DP Ruto in his constituency warned Gusii leaders against engaging in clan politics saying that will derail development.

"My supporters know if elections were conducted today, I have no doubt I could emerge a winner," said Machogu.
