The deal was agreed on Saturday after Joho visited former President Daniel Moi at his Kabarak home on Saturday.

The visit progressed in a closed-door meeting between Joho, Moi and his son Gideon.

Gideon has expressed his interest to run for the country’s top seat in 2022 when President Kenyatta retires.

According to sources, the talks for a Joho-Moi pact started when the Senator flew to Mombasa on May 31.

After the meeting, Joho told Deputy President William Ruto that he will work with ‘like-minded Kenyans’ to stop him from ascending to the presidency.

“Say what you want and do what you want, but politics is a game. We will deal with you (Ruto) by working with your opponents. Let us not blame one another. Let’s see what will happen come 2022,” Joho said in June.

On Kabarak’s visit, Gideon said Joho had been tasked by Mzee Moi ‘to help the people of Baringo’.

“He has come to Baringo to assist us and will be here before the end of the year to assist us in some work Mzee asked him to,” Gideon told residents at Emining on Sunday.
