A form four student at St. Josephs Nyabigena High school who allegedly beat a form three student to death will be detained for more 5 days to allow police complete investigations, a court has ruled.
The suspect Isaiah Bernard Marinya was on Wednesday arraigned at Ogembo law courts.
He appeared before Resident Magistrate Gloria Barasa.
The suspect didn't take a plea because the prosecution requested for more time to complete probe before the suspect will take a plea.
Magistrate Barasa ordered the killer prefect to be detained at Nyamarambe police station for five more days before he will be arraigned in court to take the plea.
The magistrate set the mentioning of the case to be on March 5, 2019.
She directed detectives to collect information regarding the death of Kevin Gesaini Omwando who was attacked by Marinya quickly so that the suspect can be charged without delay.
The magistrate also warned police officers against harassing the suspect while in custody.
Marinya is accused of clobbering to death Kevin Gesaini Omwando aged 16 years.
Omwando was rushed to Tabaka mission hospital after he collapsed following the beating but, was pronounced dead on arrival.
