The angry riders led by their chairman Dismas Nyakenyanya while speaking on Tuesday during their monthly meeting at Nyakenge area, protested bad state of roads.

Mr Nyakenyanya condemned Ongwae for giving false promises.

"The county boss assured us that he will ensure the rural roads are murramed to ease transport something he has not done until today. We won't recognise his leadership because he is a failure who only lied to us to get votes during the 2017 polls," he said.

The angry chairman threatened to mobilise bodaboda riders across all the 40 stages to boycott paying monthly revenue to the county.

"During this time the region is experiencing heavy rains, riders are not able to go to work because of the impassable roads. We will stop paying revenue to the county government until the roads are upgraded," he stated.

Pius Ondere, a rider, accused Governor Ongwae of taking them for granted.

"We campaigned for Ongwae but, unfortunately, he has failed to upgrade the feeder roads as he promised. We can't continue paying revenue to a corrupt government," said Ondere.
