The (ODM) leader will preside over the function, courtesy of an invitation by Awendo Member of Parliament (MP) John Walter Owino.

"Party Leader Raila Odinga will by in Awendo in Migori County today for a series of meetings before addressing a public baraza at the Awendo Green Stadium later in the afternoon. Local as well as national leaders will attend," The ODM party tweeted.

However, Migori Governor Okoth Obado will not attend the event. This is because High Court Judge Jessie Lessit gave an order barring him from being within a 20 kilometer radius of Homa Bay County.

This therefore means that Obado cannot visit Awendo where the function will be, since the town falls within a 20 kilometer radius of Homa Bay county.

If Obado attends the event, he will be guilty of violating his bail terms, a move that could lead to the cancellation of the entire bail agreement.

Last year, Obado was charged in connection with the murder of the late Sharon Otieno.

The late Sharon,  who was a student at the Rongo University, hailed from Homa Bay County.

He was charged alongside his aides Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo.

The late Sharon was 7-months pregnant with DNA tests confirming that the unborn baby belonged to the Migori County boss.
