Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has warned Deputy President (DP) William Ruto against what he says happened to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking during AM Live Show on NTV, the vocal MP seemed to claim that Odinga’s bid for Presidency was hampered by what he termed as personality cults.
He urged the Deputy President to avoid people who are encouraging him to develop a personality cult.
“Personality cults end up in distraction....The kind of a thing the likes of Jakoyo (former Gem MP) used to do to Baba (Raila Odinga). And now see where Baba is,” said the second term MP.
He appeared on the Show alongside former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo among others.
Kuria’s sentiments come as four Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya region face claims of having held several meetings to plan on how to allegedly assassinate the DP.
The MP said that he initiated the meetings with an aim of fast-tracking development in the Mt Kenya region.
The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has since summoned Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya (Trade), Joe Mucheru (ICT) Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport) over the Ruto assassination allegations.
The four have since denied the claims.
