Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has said that things are not good within the ruling Jubilee Party.
This comes amid an apparent widening rift between the 'Kieleweke' and 'Tanga Tanga' factions of the party. The two groups are allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto respectively.
Speaking on Saturday, Mwaura who is a member of the party said that the party is indeed breaking apart and is in a critical condition, two years to the 2022 general polls.
"Chama chetu cha Jubilee bado kinaendelea kuraruka (our Jubilee party is continuing to break apart)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.
He termed this as the reason behind his silence lately, adding that he has decided to take a short break and watch the political feud unfolding from the touchline.
"Nimekuwa tu humuhumu lakini wakati mwingine unaangalia hii siasa yetu unaionea eighteen unasema wacha ikae kwanza (I have just been around but at times you are forced to watch the political scene from a distance)," he added.
The senator said that he is not allied to any of the two factions, adding that he remains neutral and keenly observing the political dynamics before picking a side.
