Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai was at the center of a storm in 2017 when he made a rape comment against Governor Charity Ngilu.
Days after the August 8, 2017, general election, the Jubilee MP was captured on camera allegedly calling for Ngilu's raping.
The video was widely shared on social media causing public uproar and criticism against the MP.
The MP in the video allegedly said he would hire young men to rape the governor in her office.
Politicians allied to Ngilu demanded MPs arrest and prosecution over the alleged remarks.
In his defense, Mbai claimed that Ngilu during the 2017 general election campaigns had allegedly called for the raping of women found dressed in Jubilee party t-shirts.
Ngilu came out blazing threatening legal action against the first time MP if he failed to apologize.
Ngilu accused the Jubilee MP of demeaning women leaders.
The Jubilee MP was later forced to swallow his pride and apologize to the Kitui governor.
The two reconciled and are working together to achieve development in Kitui County.
