Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss Shollei has called for the arrest and prosecution of Kapsoya primary school deputy headteacher allegedly defiled a14-year-old girl class 8 pupil.
Shollei termed the incident as unfortunate and demanded that the deputy headmaster faces the full force of the law.
"I want to condemn the incident with the strongest terms possible. Surely how can a man of his normal senses do that to a minor,” she said.
"I will not allow such acts to happen under my watch. I am calling upon the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to sack this teacher with immediate effect as our girls are not safe under his leadership,” added the legislator.
Shollei further noted that teachers are supposed to take care of students and not to turn against them.
She promised to work round the clock to ensure that justice is served to the pupil who was allegedly defiled.
The Kapsoya primary school deputy headteacher, Kipchumba Kiptoo is alleged to have lured the 14-year-old girl into his car and drove to the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet county where he did unfortunate act.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan on Friday ordered for the teachers' arrest and prosecution of the teacher who has since gone into hiding.
