Six suspects were on Thursday found guilty of exhuming the body of a one-year-old baby girl buried on December 26, 2018.
The six exhumed the body on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at a village in Karati.
They pleaded guilty to the offence of disinterring a dead body.
Principal magistrate Esther Kimilu fined them Sh50, 000 each for the offence or they spend one year in prison.
The six include the mother of the deceased, his two sisters, two pastors, and their church’s follower.
Residents accused the leadership of the Kingdom Touch Ministry church of taking advantage of their faithful denial over her child’s death to brainwash her.
They were arrested as they prayed hard to have the baby resurrect.
Residents said since the young girl died, the mother had been in denial and needed psychological support.
