The Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba is in South Africa representing President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) conference.
The conference is set to be opened officially by the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The aim of the conference is for African countries to show spirited unity and solidarity with the people of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
The conference focuses on pushing for the implementation of the United Nations (UN) and African Union (AU) resolutions.
On Tuesday, the former Budalangi MP expressed his pleasure for the honour accorded to him by the head of state to represent him in such a high profile conference.
"Arrived in South Africa last evening to represent H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta at the SADC solidarity conference with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)," he posted on Facebook.
"The Conference to be opened by South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa aims to show solidarity with the People of SADR and amplify the call for the implementation of the resolution by the United Nations and African Union,"he added
On arrival to South Africa, Namwamba was received by the Amb.Lemarron Kaano, Kenya's Deputy High Commissioner in South Africa and officials of the South African government.
