A Form Two student accused of allegedly killing a secondary school teacher was on Wednesday released on bond by the Nakuru high court.
Justice Joel Ngugi released the student on a Sh300,000 bond after he denied the murder charges.
Justice Ngugi, however, in his ruling issued orders barring the student from going back to his home in Kaptembwa pending hearing and determination of the case.
Justice Ngugi further directed that the Tumaini Secondary School student be transferred to another school.
The student's lawyer Peter Bore argued that his client who had been detained in police custody since his arrest on January 24, this year was suffering in prison and needed to be in school.
The student is being accused of killing Peter Mogusu Omare, a Physics and Computer Studies teacher at Hopewell Secondary School in Barut, Nakuru County on January 24, 2019.
The 35-year-old teacher was attacked 100 metres from the school while on his way to his house.
The teacher, who suffered multiple head injuries and a cracked skull, had earlier confiscated a phone from the student.
The case will be mentioned on April 10.
