There was drama after a male and female student were caught in the act on Tuesday evening in Keore village, Kitutu Chache South constituency, Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, area assistant Chief Elvis Omete said the students left school late in the evening and diverted into a bush to enjoy the forbidden fruit.
“The students who are in form 2 and 3 respectively were keenly followed by the girl’s mother who has been suspecting them to be lovers,” he said.
Omete said the girl’s mother, Josephine Kwamboka, raised an alarm and attracted traders who were leaving Nyakoe market to witness the incident.
“I have always suspected my daughter who usually arrives home between 7pm-8pm during school days. I decided to lay a trap and I was shocked to find them naked in the bush enjoying sex,” said the angry mother.
The two lovers were mercilessly caned by the chief and Nyumba Kumi officials and warned against seeing each other.
