Nominated governing Jubilee member of parliament Maina Kamanda has thrown his weight behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Speaking Saturaday in Ol-Kalou, Nyandarua county, the former Starehe constituency legislator called on the residents to wait for the BBI report to be compiled.

"Let's wait for BBI. We don't know what it carries (Reu tweterere BBI. Tutioe nikii ikuete), " Maina Kamanda said

The legislator also took his time to weigh in on the Punguza Mizigo Initiative, saying that it would not be good for the country.

He thanked the people of Nyandarua for rejecting the Punguza Mizigo whose chief exponent is Thirdway Alliance leader Dr Ekuru Aukot who has been traversing the country is a bid to build support for his initiative.

Dr Aukot has hit out at critics of his initiative for what he says is propagating lies about his bill.The BBI committee is currently compiling a report of its findings and recommendations after collecting the views of Kenyans.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, and veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga will be given the report once its compilation is complete.

While Uhuru has been, by and large, silent on the BBI, his handshake partner has been most vocal about the initiative.
