At least three high profile guests have already arrived for Don Bosco Gichana's homecoming, which is currently underway at his Rikenye home.
The popular businessman cum politician, who enjoys unlimited support both in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, was released from Tanzania prison last month after five years in cells.
And on Friday, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka led a team of high profile politicians at Gichana's home, where a memorial service for his mother, Celina Gichana, who died in 2016 in his absence, is underway.
Mr. Musyoka, who offered pro bono for Bosco, is expected to address a rally in Bosco's honour in Gusii stadium later on in the evening.
Also present are Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi. Mr. Sudi, a close ally of DP William Ruto, has been in the frontline pushing for Bosco's release.
Other local politicians expected to grace the occasion include Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati, MP Janet Ong'era, Sam Ongeri and a host of MCAs.
It is however not clear whether Governor James Ongwae and area MP Richard Onyonka will attend the function despite playing role in his release.
In a past interview, Don Bosco vowed to mobilise millions of Kisii and Nyamira residents for his homecoming, something that could materialize in the afternoon.
