On his Twitter account, DPP Noordin Haji only instructed three people among them Migori Governor Okoth Obado to be charged with murder or aiding and abetting murder.

Others who face the murder charges are his PA Michael Oyamo and another aide Caspal Obiero.

While Mr. Oyamo is said to have coordinated execution of Ms. Otieno, a girlfriend to the governor, Mr. Obiero had his car used and was in constant communication with his boss.

But taxi driver Jackson Gombe, bodyguard Elvis Omondi and former Kanyadoto MCA Lawrence Mula may have after all turned into State witnesses after giving crucial clue to the mysterious murder.

Detectives are said to have heavily relied of Gumbo's account of evidence where he insisted that he was asked to drive the Toyota Fielder that was used for abduction unaware of his clients motives.

It is him who also informed the police that the governor was at Kodera forest, where Sharon's mutilated body was retrieved.

They will however face a lesser charge of conspiracy to commit murder which has a less severe sentence.
