According to a statement by the varsity's management, the institution is set to hold the ceremony on  Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the university's grounds.

"Garissa University wishes to announce its graduation ceremony to be held on Thursday 27 June 2019," reads the statement in part.

Further, prospective graduands have been asked to check their eligibility from their respective departments, with the major focus being the order of names that should tally with those in their KCSE certificate.

"All prospective graduands are asked to confirm from their respective deans their order of names that shall appear in the certificate which must be the same as the names in KCSE certificate," the announcement stated.

Just last year, the first lot of students to be enrolled at the university graduated from Moi University main campus after transferring due to the 2015 terror attack.

This year's graduation is expected to be a massive boost for the institution that has been struggling to assure scholars that the campus is more safer and conducive for studies.
