Political analyst Ambrose Weda has taken issue with a section of Jubilee Party politicians who have questioned the ongoing corruption purge, claiming that its targeting specific persons.
The team which is mainly made up of Deputy President William Ruto's allies has been claiming that those involved anti-graft entities are using the purge to indirectly hit at the DP and his friends.
They have also claimed that the institutions are being used by President Uhuru Kenyatta, with Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi at some point openly warning the President against his alleged attempts to paint the DP as corrupt.
But in an interview on Wednesday, Weda termed the claims as baseless, adding that Uhuru is openly coming to the table with clean intentions.
The commentator noted that things would be terrible if he was indeed targeting someone.
"This is the President of the Republic of Kenya. If he decides to target you-you cannot last even for three days, especially in a government where some top officials have money and wealth whose source is questionable" he said.
Weda, a former Chair of the Sony Sugar company was speaking in an interview on The Big Conversation on KBC English Service, Monday morning.
He added that Uhuru also demonstrated his goodwill and good intentions on Thursday last week, during his state of the nation address in parliament.
Weda observed that Uhuru's remarks that he will only punish his officials named in corruption after the constitutional due process is undertaken us proof that he has no bad plans.
"If he was targeting anyone, he wouldn't be speaking about using due process to tackle the issue," added the commentator who doubles up as a High Court advocate.
Uhuru added that the fight against corruption is a battle he is ready to fight to the end.
