Before jetting to India in August for treatment, Nyaribo took Nyagarama to court over an MOU they signed together months to 2017 elections.

And on Monday, the duo reconciled in a dramatic version, holding a meeting for over four hours. S source privy to the meeting says all controversial issues were handled.

"They are all aware that infighting will not help the county. And that informed their reconciliation. In the meeting, they agreed to share chief officer positions equally.

"Also, they agreed to implement Human Resource Audit Report which pointed out issues that led to ballooning wage bill. Expect toughness and thoroughness this time around," he said.

In August, Nyagarama, who had travelled to the US for treatment, reinstated a number of workers who had been suspended by the Deputy Governor.

So straining has been their relationship that a number of junior officers allied to the governor have publicly embarrassed the DG without apology.

The meeting comes amid accountability questions following reports that the county was unable to absorb 2 per cent of development money for the first quarter of 2018/19.

"It is a pity that he's paying salaries yet there is little output. The governor must now wake up and do his job. We will not tolerate the ongoing impunityI," North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko had said.
