The locals claimed that the MP has been running the constituency as his own kiosk.
"We are tired of his dictatorship. He recently proposed the relocation of the District Headquarters from Kerina to Suneka. Bonchari has no MP at the moment," said an angry local Jackson Machoni.

The MP was at Kerina to engage residents following his proposal to relocate the District offices a proposal locals have opposed publicly saying the MP should focus on development and not relocating government offices.
One of the MP's personal security team who requested for anonymity stated that most of the locals who attended the meeting had shown signs of chaos.
"Locals turned up at the meeting armed with 'rungs'. We have had a difficult time shielding the MP from the attack," he said.
He faulted police officers who took long to calm the situation.
