Appearing on AM TV show on NTV on Monday morning, Nyong’o and Ochuodho sang a famous Gor Mahia tune to celebrate the club’s 1-0 win over Angola’s Petro de Luanda.

“Gor Mahia okelo okombe mang’eng’ e Kenya. Jokenya duto yie kodu Gor Mahia,” they sang in unison.

This loosely translates to “Gor Mahia has brought many cups in Kenya. All Kenyans respect you.”

On Sunday evening at Nairobi’s Moi Sports Center Kasarani, Gor Mahia players held their nerves to edge out Petro and advance to the quarters of the Confederations Cup for the very first time in history.

The lone goal was scored via a penalty shot by Jacques Tuyisenge whom Gor Mahia fans have since baptized ‘Ja Usenge.’

The Kenyan giants played the better part of the match with 9 men, after Ernest Wendo, Shafique Batambuze and head Coach Hassan Oktay were given marching orders by the referee at different stages of the game.

Kogallo finished second in group D with 9 points, behind Egypt’s Zamalek on goal difference after winning all home matches against Zamalek, NA Hussein Day of Algeria and Petro.
