Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday was forced to disembark from a chopper to address youths who demanded to hear from them.
Ruto, together with Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and other leaders, had attended a church at Kiambaa before the DP got into his chopper ready to ready.
The youths, who donned yellow T-shirts branded with Ruto’s name and picture, demanded that the DP addresses them.
This forced Waititu to plead with the DP to address the excited supporters.
The moment the DP disembarked and headed to the crowd, it turned wild singing pro-Ruto slogans.
"Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Our Choice 2022," one placard read.
Earlier, Ruto had left worshippers in stiches after he compared journalists to Pharisees who known as trouble-makers in the Bible.
He hit out at scribes accusing them of spinning stories to make them juicy.
“Sasa mimi na mdosi wangu tunafanya mkutano, alafu nyinyi mnasema eti secrets of the meeting.Ulijua aje na hukuwa kwa meeting? Kumbe ndio nimeskia mhubiri akisema wafarisayo na waandishi wawache kuleta shida, (Reporters claim to know what I and the President discussed in our meeting, where were you to know details of the meeting? No wonder the pastor read that scribes and Pharisees wre causing trouble,” Ruto said.
