A woman was rescued from a man’s house where she was being locked up.
Jacinta Moraa was rescued by Nyumba Kumi officials led by Michael Onchore on Tuesday evening.
It is alleged that the man, Jared Onditi lured the woman into his rental house at Chepilat in Nyamira County on Monday evening.
“Onditi lured Moraa into his house on Monday evening. He locked her in the house and he has been defiling her. He never allowed her to go to a toilet outside,” said Onchore.
Onchore said neighbors who heard a commotion in the house alerted them and they responded quickly.
He said Onditi escaped to unknown place when he saw them.
Area chief, Steve Ongworu said Onditi is being traced to be arrested.
“Onditi will not go far. We must arrest him and arraign him in court where he will be charged over rape,” he said.
Ongworu urged women to be more cautious to avoid falling into such traps.
