Police officers in Eldoret town have launched investigations after a woman was on Tuesday found murdered in her house at Kiplombe area on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
The body of the woman who the police identified as Loice Yatich was discovered in her house after her husband reported that she had gone missing.
According to Eldoret West OCPD Zacharia Bitok, the woman who is wife to former Kakamega DC Paul Yatich was working as a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) support staff in Eldoret.
The two have been separated for the past 10 years but have been in constant communication.
“The body was found in one of her rooms in Kiplombe and its suspected that the murder had taken place on Saturday,” Bitok told the press.
“The body had some serious cuts on the shoulders and we are suspecting that the lady was raped before being killed,” he added.
The OCPD said investigative officers are following several leads into the murder and pointed out that a TSC employee was among the prime suspects.
Already a vehicle belonging to the woman that the assailants are believed to have used to escape after the heinous act is reported to have been impounded at Kabiyet in neighbouring Nandi county.
