Addressing residents during this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations at Afraha Stadium, the county commissioner cited groups such as confirm, which he said are gazetted as ‘outlawed’ groups.

Mbui said security officers in the county will not tolerate such groups that are terrorizing members of the public.

He urged parents to ensure they trace the movement of their children, so that they are not caught up in the crackdown.

The commissioner assured residents that the county security team will continue working closely, to enhance security in all the sub-counties of Nakuru.

“All criminal groupings including confirm which was gazetted as a notorious criminal grouping have no room in Nakuru, and the security apparatus are going on with a crackdown. Those funding them beware,” he said.

He also put on notice illicit brewers in Nakuru, adding that the fight against illicit brew has not stopped, and those behind it, will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“Those involved in matters illicit brew and drugs be warned. You cannot be doing business that affects others and the society negatively," Mbui said.
