Kasalu claimed that governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) are against Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.

Kasalu said the trio will need 20 years to achieve Kalonzo’s status.

She said Kalonzo remains the Ukambani political kingpin.

“There are three individuals in Ukambani going crazy and demeaning our leader Kalonzo Musyoka. They will need 20 years to achieve Kalonzo’s political status,” Kasalu said.

Kasalu claimed that the governors’ activities are aimed at spoiling Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.

She spoke during the official launch of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) at the DEB Primary school in Kangundo, Machakos County on Monday.

Two weeks ago, Ukambani governors formed the Peoples Empowerment Movement (PEM) to champion development in the region.

The movement has, however, been interpreted by political analysts as a political tool aimed at fizzling Kalonzo’s dominance in Kamba politics.

Kalonzo continues to face a rebellion in Ukambani even as the 2022 presidential election quickly approaches.
