Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale now says that he has no plans of vying for a parliamentary seat in 2022.
This was after a listener on Radio Jambo urged him to recapture the Ikolomani parliamentary seat. Khalwale was the MP for Ikolomani constituency in Kakamega County between 2002 and 2013.
Khalwale who was at the studio's on Thursday evening rejected the request noting that Kenyans have only themselves to blame for the current situation they are in.
He accused Kenyans of electing leaders with poor leadership qualities, adding that they can improve the situation by making a better decision in the approaching poll.
‘’Sikubaliani na maoni ya kurudi bunge maana wapo wengine wengi wanaoweza kufanya kazi hiyo. Wakenya ndio wa kujilaumu kwa shida tunazoziona bungeni sasa maana tunapowaona wanamuziki na mabondia bungeni inatatanisha," stated Khalwale.
It loosely translates to in English: "I have no plans of going back to parliament as there are many other people qualified for the task out there. However, Kenyans are to blame for the current parliamentary shortcomings courtesy of their poor decisions in the previous election."
This comes only a week after drama erupted in the National Assembly during the discussion of the 8 per cent VAT on fuel where a section of lawmakers backed the increment in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga's demands.
