Pupils of Mikuyuni primary school in Kibwezi, Makueni County are yet to resume their classes.
This is after a 15-year-old boy died in the school after he was allegedly kicked by one of his teachers.
Kibwezi Sub-county director of education Kennedy Machora asked parents to allow their children to resume their classes.
Machora said the teacher in question had been arrested and police are investigating the incident.
"Very few pupils have reported back since the incident happened. I would like to urge the parents to release their kids to school, the case on the pupil who died is with the police now," Machora said.
He addressed the press in his office on Wednesday.
Machora said learning has been disrupted stating that teachers can't teach the few kids in the institution.
The irate parents took away their children from the school on the fateful day in protest of the 'killer' teacher.
He said justice will be served, the teacher won't escape scot-free if found culpable of killing the child as alleged.
"We will talk with the parents and plan for the child's burial. No one will defend or cover up for the teacher if he is found guilty of committing the crime," he added.
Makindu Law Courts last Friday granted the police 14 more days to complete their investigations into the incident.
