The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has pointed the finger of blame to the public over case failures which make cases weak and subsequently collapse.

Speaking on Thursday morning at Ghetto Radio, the fierce DPP stated that as a country, citizens should help the police and the prosecution with enough information to pin down corrupt individuals.

He also linked the Kenyans for the extra judicial killings witnessed in the country of the recent past through unnecessary participation in prohibited activities.

"The problem starts with the public. Most do not want to come out with evidence, and some support extrajudicial killings," said the DPP.

He further reiterated that if the war on crime should be won, the public must be willing and ready to step in as state witnesses to help in the prosecution process.

"Witlessness should come out and help in the process of prosecution," he added.

The Prosecution has been on the spotlight over weak cases and adjournment of some serious crimes especially on corruption, extrajudicial killings by the police and corruption that has rocked the criminal Justice system.

Haji asked the public to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in order for the police to collect sufficient evidence against to enable it fully convict perpetrators of serious economic crimes among other crimes in the country.
