Police have been hunting Kemunto – who is said to be the wife of the main suspect in the attack Mr Ali Salim Gichunge.
The Standard reported that police in Nyangusu Police Station arrested the suspected after being tipped-off by members of the public.
Grilling is ongoing to ascertain if she is the much-sought suspect.
Police said that she was arrested along with a male companion said to be a foreigner. Her travel documents showed that she returned to the country on March 21 from Saudi Arabia.
“For now we are not sure whether the female suspect in custody is the alleged Kemunto. We will leave that to the relevant police officers probing the case,” told the Standard.
Police have been hunting down Kemunto since the attack happened as investigations showed she was living with Gichunge in a house in Kiambu County where the attack was reportedly planned.
Immediately police raided the house where Gichunge was living, they arrested a woman who was said to be Kemunto, only to later emerge that she had not been arrested but actually escaped the police dragnet by a whisker.
