In an interview with NTV from his home in Karen on Sunday evening, the DP noted that the executive has given its all in the war against graft, stating the remaining role is for the independent investigative bodies to play.

He said that the executive cannot be blamed for the few convictions made despite the massive graft scandals already in the public domain, throwing the blame at the Judiciary and the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"Our job as the executive is well explained in the constitution and we have done it fully regarding the war on corruption, its now up to the judiciary and investigative bodies to do their constitutional roles," he said.

"We have done our best and the question as to why we are seeing few convictions should be directed at the Director of Public Prosecutions and Judiciary. It's not up to the executive to make arrests and convictions," he added.

This comes at a time when the government has reignited the war against the vice, an idea enjoying full support from the opposition, with Uhuru as well introducing more techniques in a bid to ensure integrity among state officers.

The President has since proposed a lifestyle audit for all civil servants.
