Social media users have mocked Governor John Nyagarama for 'imitating' his Nairobi counterpart Mike Sonko following his morning tour to Nyamira County Referral Hospital.
On Monday, Sonko, riding on a motorcycle, visited Pumwani Hospital where he discovered foetuses piled on a room for no clear reason.
And perhaps in Sonko's footsteps, Nyagarama visited the county's largest health facility, precipitating criticism from locals.
"Sonko's travelled on a motorcycle and was not accompanied by anybody. Nyagarama's visit is just a mere PR gimmick," wrote Ben Mogaka.
Isaac Motari added: "He's accompanied by platoon of workers and this doesn't translate to anything. It's just a waste of time."
Only this month that county medics returned to work after a three months strike over payment.
According to a section of locals, Nyagarama's image is beyond reformation given the 'poor attitude' he has in transformative agenda.
"He must have been exercising. This Mzee has zero agenda for the county," said Mr. Onsanse.
