Wanyama, who has seen game time hard to come by now looks set to leave the club, with rumors indicating that a move to Westham, another London side might be on the cards.

The midfielder's progress at Spurs has been hampered by recurring injuries, which have kept him out of the team.

Now reports indicate that Westham has joined the race for the hard-tackler,  who has made only five appearances off the bench this season.

He formed a formidable partnership with Mousa Dembele after joining Spurs from Southampton, helping the team finish second in the English Premier League.

Football Insider now reports that the Hammers are keen to take advantage of the Kenyan captain’s fringe status at Spurs as they look to bolster their squad in the winter window.

The site adds that the West Ham recruitment team have shortlisted Wanyama as they look to bring in a central midfielder.

Spurs will be very keen to not lose a key player to a London rival in the new year, but Wanyama may be keen to get back playing regularly, something that the Hammers would certainly be able to offer.

Wanyama joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £11 million, and he has since gone on to chalk up 76 appearances in all competitions.
