Two married men on Friday morning fought in public over a widow whose husband died last year.
Eliud Ongoro and Shaddrack Ombui who is also known as "Born Tao" fought outside the house of the widow, injuring one another.
This happened at Bomindo village. The widow, Damackline Boyani, is alleged to have been having an affair with both men who were now fighting for her.
Ongoro had spent the night in the woman's house when Ombui decided to go visit and found the two.
What followed was a nasty exchange of blows between the two men prompting Boyani to call for help from neighbours who thronged her compound.
Ongoro was badly injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital to get treatment while Ombui had his hands tied until the chief arrived.
According to a neighbour who witnessed the whole incident, the woman is to be blamed for the woes. He said that apart from the two, there is another man who at times spends nights there.
"I knew this would happen someday. The woman usually brings in many different men. There is another man who comes over and spends a night here. This is bad since it brings a lot of hatred to the two families involved," Dennis Monari said.
Area chief Jacklif Omanga arrived and was surprised by the incident that occurred. He called on the residents to maintain law and order.
"This is an unprecedented and shameful act that has happened here. However, I call upon the neighbours of the woman and other villagers to be calm as we wait for the injured one to solve the problem," the chief said.
