A video of Kamba gospel singer Stephen Kasolo walking out of an interview with a local radio station has elicited mixed reactions on social media.
The singer who was invited for an interview at County FM radio station on Thursday a few hours before his Groove Awards homecoming party in Kitui alleged that the radio presenters have been fighting his ministry.
Kasolo claimed that the presenters did not want him to win the award and were instead rooting for his colleague Wilberforce Musyoka.
The drama ensued when the interviewer, Juliet Mueni, asked Kasolo whether he was using his state of being an orphan to get sympathy from fans.
"Go tell the other presenters you were fighting me with that whoever fights an orphan will be dealt with by God," said Kasolo.
"I have helped many youths. I have collaborated with Ken Bizzoh, Zark Ark among others and helped them rise in the industry using my resources as an orphan. Tell me, how many youths have Wilberforce Musyoka, Purity Kateiko and Myello, people who still have their parents helped?" he added.
The 'Kyaa Kya Ngai' singer further argued that he was battling for the award with Musyoka, adding that he will clinch the award again come 2020.
"You supported Musyoka and talked negatively about me. However, the victory is not mine but for the people of Kitui. I will still win again next year," said Kasolo before walking out of the studio.
The interview sparked a debate online, with a section of netizens supporting him and others criticising his behaviour.
