Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has castigated Kenyans on social media for crucifying a university student whose body was found dumped at Kodera Forest in Homa Bay County.
The slain second-year Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno is reportedly said to have been romantically involved with Migori Governor Okoth Obado. Her death is alleged to be as a result of love gone sour, claims that Obado has since refuted.
However, Murkomen has criticized some Kenyans for condemning Otieno over her alleged affair with Obado. He said Otieno has been crucified for her “sins” even before investigations are concluded.
“Sad that some netcitizens have completed their investigations, found Sharon Otieno & the unborn baby guilt of sin, convicted her & sentenced her & the baby to death. Now they are busy justifying why she had to die. You are as evil as the murderers,” said the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator in a tweet Wednesday.
Some of his followers, however, disagreed with him justifying that no woman should sleep around with a married man. Some questioned if the Senator was holding brief for "sponsors".
