Most dates take place in restaurants, and this means that you are likely to order something to eat. 

Here are foods you do not want to order on a first date:

1. Huge burger and hotdogs

Ordering a huge burger on your first date is not a great idea. 

You don’t want to open your whole mouth trying to take that bite. This could turn out to be embarrassing.

2. Wings or ribs

These are messy foods. Nothing is charming as seeing barbecue sauce dripping on your date's chin.

You can save this food for another date or with your girlfriends.

3. Most expensive item

Ordering the most expensive thing on the menu could imply that you are trying to take advantage of your date, and that’s not the impression you want to give on your first date. 

If you have to order the most expensive item, then split the menu and you can at least let your date have a bite of your pricey meal.

4. Spaghetti and meatballs

Spaghetti can be a difficult meal to handle. You have to ensure that the spaghetti does not slip off the fork and fall on your laps. It’s not a cute look. 

It’s more advisable to order macaroni or ziti because they are easy to handle and less messy.

5. Big green leafy salads

Salads are healthy but are not ideal for a first date. 

You can save this for some time after the first date. 

Greens could end up stuck on your teeth and make you look messy.

6. Extremely spicy food

Spicy foods have health benefits but are not advisable for a first date. 

You don’t want to end up having a running nose or teary eyes during the date.
