Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi is serving his second and last term in office.

Several top politicians are eyeing Governor Kingi’s seat in the much anticipated 2022 general election.
Here are four politicians who are likely to succeed Kingi in 2022.
1. Aisha Jumwa
She is the Malindi MP elected in the August 8, 2017 general election on an ODM ticket.
Jumwa served as Kilifi women representative prior to her election as MP.
Jumwa could be the next Coast political kingpin after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
Jumwa is among rebel ODM MPs from Coast region who have declared support for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
2. Gideon Edmund Saburi
He is the Kilifi county deputy governor.
He is said to be enjoying cordial working relationship with Governor Kingi.
The 34-year-old old has a rich academic background and holds a Masters Degree in Construction and Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
3. Philip Charo
He unsuccessfully contested for the Malindi parliamentary seat on Jubilee Party ticket in the August 8, 2017 election and emerged second after Aisha Jumwa.
Charo enjoys massive support among youth and could contest for the governor seat in 2022.
4. Stewart Madzayo
He is the Kilifi senator serving his second term in office.
Madzayo was fist elected in 2013 general election on anan ODM Party ticket. He is among veteran coast politicians.
He can make stab on the Kilifi governor's seat in 2022 owing to his political experience.
