Did you know that you can still have fun in January and spend less while at it? 

Here are five places in Nairobi you can have fun on a tight budget:

1.  Cycling at Karura Forest.

If you love nature, then this is the ideal place to visit.

The main entrance of the forest is located off Limuru road, opposite the Belgium embassy. 

The forest is very green and beautiful, with the cool breeze brought by the trees making it a favourable place for bike riding without much sweat. 

Entry charges are Ksh 50 for children and Ksh 100 for adults.

Renting a bike will cost you  Ksh 500 for two hours. 

2. Nairobi Safari Walk

The 3 Km safari walk is located within the environs of the Nairobi National Park. 

This is the perfect place to unwind from the ever-busy Nairobi streets.

The outstanding features are the three ecosystems: the wetland, savannah and forestry. 

The raised boardwalk allows one to view a wide variety of wildlife.

The entry fee for adults is Ksh 250.

3. GP Karting 

Located off Langata road, this is a wonderful place to go if you desire a more adrenaline rush kind of activity.

With Ksh1000 you can drive a go-kart around the racing circuit. 

You should not worry if you don't know how to drive, you will be given all the necessary instructions before you start the race.

In fact, it could be more fun if you are a first-timer,  you can imagine the adrenaline rush you will experience while at it.

4. Ice skating 

Kenya is a tropical country in Sub-saharan Africa, but Panari hotel provides ice rink temperatures favourable for ice skating. 

Due to the low temperatures, it advisable you dress warmly when visiting the place. 

The charges are Sh 900 for people aged 15 years and above, and Ksh 700 for children under the age of fifteen for a one-hour session. 

The prices are inclusive of the skating boots.

5. Rock climbing in Parklands 

This is good for those days you want to test your physical strength. 

You can find this on the 6th floor of Old Tower, Diamond Plaza in Parklands. 

The cost is Sh 1,000 per session, and the difficulty level is set according to your ability. 

They also have an offer for ladies,  every Tuesdays they have a ladies night where your group of girlfriends can pay Ksh 500 per session.
