There was drama on Wednesday evening at Ahero, Kisumu after a big snake crawled from its hiding, and settled behind one of the grass-thatched house in the area.
The snake with a mixture of yellow, red and grey colors had ornaments and paint on its body.
With the help of the priest, the residents stoned and burnt down the snake, and the ash buried away from the homestead.
According to the villagers, the snake looks exactly like the one that was burnt by the residents in the same homestead two months ago, with the only difference being that the latter had Maasai bracelets on its neck.
“This witchcraft is worrying. We burnt a snake exactly as this almost two months ago. We don’t know why such snakes keep appearing here,” Evans Ogwa, one of the residents told Urban Radio.
No one at the home accepted to have any information regarding the emergence of the strange snakes, with the owner of the grass-thatched house denying links with the snake for the second time.
“I was washing utensils before I saw it. I have no idea just like the others,” Lilian Ndiema, the owner of the grass-thatched house said.
When asked why snakes were emerging near her house and not any other, the old lady condemned the reporter saying she was a very spiritual person, adding that she would like to see her home free from the difficulties.
