It is obvious the CJ has ruled over many cases since he started his journey of being a judge before moving along the ranks until becoming who he is now.

One of his rulings, rare in Kenya, was overturning the presidential elections which saw the county hold two elections in a year for the first time in history.

Amazingly, the CJ revealed a land case presented to him while serving in Kisumu court to be the one that amazed him the most.

The CJ revealed this during the swearing-in ceremony of new resident magistrates at the Supreme Court on Monday.

In the land case, one person had bought 4 acres of land from an old man. After purchasing, he went ahead and fenced 6 acres instead.

He then told the court that he fenced the land shown to him by the old man, without determining its size.

"He argued that during the negations, the landowner had told him 'shamba yangu inafika pale' ( showing size without measuring). I asked him a simple question: What did you pay for... six acres or four acres? He could not answer me," narrated Maraga.

The CJ ended up ruling the case to have the man surrender the 2 acres of land he had acquired illegally.
