Kisii County politicians interfering with Boda boda riders' election of officials have been told to keep off.
The riders led by the Hema Boda boda stage chairman Fred Ndunda stated that politicians won't be condoned to politicize the election of Boda boda officials.
"No politician is going to tell us (riders) on who we should elect to represent us. We are calling on politicians led by Governor James Ongwae to distance themselves from affairs concerning the Boda boda sector," he noted.
He threatened that the riders may stop paying revenue to the county government of Kisii if county workers and politicians won't mind their own business.
"We pay monthly revenue to the county and therefore, Governor Ongwae must move with speed to ensure none of his worker or politician involves him or herself in the affairs of Boda boda riders failure to which we will stop paying revenue to the county," he added.
Mr. Ndunda maintained that any county worker willing to join the Boda boda sector as an official should resign from her or his current position at the county government.
