Garissa Township Member of Parliament and House Majority Leader Aden Duale and Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i held a meeting with leaders from North Eastern Kenya at the Kenya School of Government in Lower Kabete Monday.

The sporadic attacks that Al-Shabaab has been staging along the Kenya-Somalia border featured prominently.

Details of the meeting were revealed by the outspoken Garissa Township MP on his Twitter handle.

"Following the attacks along our border constituents by Al shabaab, we held a meeting as leader's from NE chaired by CS, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government Dr. @FredMatiangi to deliberate on effective border security at the @KSGKenya, Lower Kabete," he posted.

It comes in the wake of an attack in Mandera County at the Arabia Secondary School that led to the deaths of two non-local teachers.

North Eastern Kenya has witnessed a series of deadly attacks staged by Al-Shabaab militants.
