The vocal legislator maintained that he is not corrupt to worry about the decision by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to phase out Sh1,000 notes.

"I don't have money in a sack in my house to worry about the introduction of new shilling notes. In fact the new notes could have been introduced even today," he stated.

Osoro said corrupt people, who are keeping money in sacks in their houses, will have no option rather that to explain how they got the money.

According to the lawmaker, investigative agencies should be on high alert to question those people who will take huge amounts to banks.

"Now that old notes will be phased out, we need to know those who have been keeping money in houses. This will be the right time to nab the corrupt," he said.
