A 28-year-old woman is nursing injuries in hospital after she was attacked by her husband's mpango wa kando on Thursday at Nyakoe market in Mosocho, Kisii County.
Witnesses said Damaris Nyabonyi, a tomato vendor at Nyakoe market was attacked by Alice Moraa.
"Nyabonyi confronted Moraa accusing her of having an illicit love affair with her husband. Moraa warned her against shaming her in public but, Nyabonyi persisted," said Angel Motari.
Mrs Motari said Moraa got angered with the insults and attacked Nyabonyi.
"Moraa attacked Nyabonyi and injured her on the lower lip, forehead. Tax revenue collectors intervened and rescued Nyabonyi before she was taken to Bosongo private hospital where she is being treated," she added.
Hezbon Obare, area assistant chief confirmed the incident and said cases of women chasing married men for love are on an increase in the area.
"I have personally warned Moraa against having an affair with Nyabonyi's husband but, it seems she could not take my warnings seriously. It is time women should stop making love with married men," he said.
