It now emerges that the company has changed its names thrice in the past five years, changing its tittle whenever tenders pop up, its new name being IDEMIA Securities.

Members of the National Assembly on Wednesday moved to block the firm from doing any further transactions in Kenya for the next 10 years, over violation of companies act.

The firm is the one behind the Huduma Namba registration kits and exercise, with MPs now coming back to hold it accountable over wrongs it allegedly did in the 2017 elections.

The House Public Accounts Committee (PAC) now claims that the French firm which received a Ksh6 billion tender for the job is illegally operating in Kenya.

The Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi-led team wants it held accountable for receiving payments ahead of the elections on the same grounds.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations must investigate IDEMIA, with the Director of Public Prosecution instituting appropriate criminal action in line with the Companies Act, for purporting to do business with the IEBC without being registered locally as required," PAC said through Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma, according to the Nation.

The same was echoed by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale who said that the firm has been operating unethically and dishonouring laws and orders.

"This company was invited by the PAC but failed to honour the invitations until it was compelled to do so. Companies that do business in Kenya must be ready to follow our laws,” he said.

Interestingly, it has as well applied to be tendered to handle the upcoming census scheduled for August.

O.T Morpho gained national popularity after opposition leader Raila Odinga accused it of bungling the 2017 election and rigging him out in the presidential race.
