Maribe has filed the affidavit in efforts to persuade the court to release her on bail.

The news anchor’s legal team have crafted the affidavit to disassociate their client with Jowie who is the 1st accused in the murder case of Monica Kimani.

The affidavit refers to Maribe and Jowie’s romantic affair in the past tense.

“Irungu was my fiancé as at then and in the circumstances, I definitely communicated with him. It is most unfair to use the communication between me and him in the given circumstances of our then existing relationship as a reason to deny me bail,” part of the affidavit reads.

The legal document is written in a language to show that there is no more relationship or contact between the two ‘ex-lovers’.

Jacque’s legal team is led by the soft-spoken Katwa Kigen and has poked holes into the prosecution’s investigations in an effort to ensure the journalist does not face the hangman in the murder case.

The team says their client was not at home when Jowie is said to have burnt some clothes and that they were also not burnt within her compound.

On her car being traced to Monica’s home on the night of the murder, Maribe says she could not control her then lover on where he would go with the car.
