Moiben MP Silas Tiren has asked police it speed up investigations into the murder of former Kapyego MCA Benson Kiptire who was abducted last week and later found dead.
Tiren said it was unfortunate to have Kipyego dead after being picked up at his business premise in Eldoret town by people who introduced themselves as police officers.
"Hon Benson Kiptire was found murdered in cold blood in Kamatira Forest in West Pokot County after being picked at his shop in Rockcenter Eldoret by people who introduced themselves as police."
"I call upon the authorities to speed up the investigation and bring forward the concerned. May his soul rest in peace and may God give the family enough strength to withstand this big loss," Tiren said in a Facebook post on Monday.
Kiptire was Senator Murkomen's Liaison officer and his death has been a big blow to the vocal senator.
However, Pokot South MP David Pkosing has raised pertinent questions into the death of the former MCA.
"Pokot kidnapped in Kapenguria three weeks ago and killed in Elgeyo Marakwet (Kaptagat forest). A Marakwet kidnapped in Eldoret and killed in Kapenguria (Kamatira forest). Both communities known to be in conflict and someone wants us to believe that nothing is said?,What is their aim? Simple, make both communities fight against each other.... Those who killed our kinsmen are known and the law will find them soon," stated Pkosing.
