Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has expressed concern over a short clip showing a woman giving birth at a private hospital in Athi River.
The county boss raised concern that the hospital has been licensed yet it offers services below par.
He noted that his government will embark on investigations to determine why the services are wanting.
The second term county boss said that the facility is not managed by his government, and there is need to know why it is not performing as expected.
He also said that he has asked detectives from his government to come to the bottom of the matter before it is too late.
“I have watched the disturbing video of a woman giving birth at a PRIVATE hospital in Athi River. Shalom Hospital is licensed by the Kenya Medical Board & is NOT managed by my Government. I have requested my officers & the Medical Board to conduct investigations of these bad acts," he said.
The governor has been committed to providing good health care to the residents.
He has been on the fore front in pleading with medics to ensure patients get nothing but the best at the end of the day. He has also been warning doctors from absconding duty.
