After Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino introduced new slogans, 'tibim, tialala, riaaa', in university politics, another university student has come up with a new one.
Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) student leader Eugene Musungu has come up with another hilarious slogan, 'Goal-Goal', which is being merged with Babu's famous slogan, to catalyze the growth of their political agendas in the university.
When Babu was at the University of Nairobi, his 'tibim, tialala and riaa' slogan were the order of the day which made his fame grow rapidly, and when he joined the national politics, his slogan still carried the day.
Prominent leaders including Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga embraced the slogan.
Musungu introduced the new 'goal goal' slogan when he was issuing a concern regarding how diploma students are treated at the campus during elections.
'Goal-goal' was derived from betting and gaming, simply meaning both playing teams must score for one to win a bet. In other words, it advocates for equity and equality.
Musungu, while issuing a statement on Wednesday at the campus' ground, said diploma students are denied a chance to practice their leadership skills.
"A diploma student taking a two-year course cannot vie because he is a first-year and when in the second year, he cannot vie because you claim he is in last year," said Musungu.
He went further to warn 'cartels' of the campus elections that their ways are known to and with the new slogan, they will bring them to an end.
